Chief Medical Director
PROF. ANTHONY OSITA IGWEGBE is a native of Ukpor in Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra state. He graduated from the University of Nigeria Nsukka in 1982 with MBBS degrees.
He did his post graduate medical training at the University of Nigeria Nsukka in 1982 with MBBS degrees. He did his post graduate medical training at the university of Nigeria teaching hospital Enugu and obtained the Fellowship of the West African College of Surgeon (FWACS) in the faculty of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1993.
Thereafter he joined the academic staff of Nnamdi Azikiwe University in 1994 and was consequently appointed honorary consultant Obstetricians and Gynaecologist at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi.
He is an astute clinician, teacher and researcher and was elevated the position of Professor in 2011.
He has been the Head of Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and has been chairman/member of several committees in the University and Teaching Hospital.
He served the hospital as acting Chairman Medical advisory Committee for 2years and for two term substantive chairman MAC and was appointed the Chief Medical Director with effect from 25th January, 2013.
The thrust of his administration is to improve and make health services available and affordable. He is also working passionately to complete some of the structures in the permanent site and commence medical services within the period of his tenure.
